Run your business from your phone
Your website comes with an app for your phone called InCommand. It shows today's work, the bookings waiting on you, the conversations from your website, and your prices. You confirm, move, reply and edit from wherever you are, and your website updates with you.
There is nothing to buy and nothing to download from an app store. The app is part of your website.
Installing the app on an iPhone or Android phone
On iPhone. Open your dashboard in Safari and go to the app at /dashboard/app. Tap the share button at the bottom of the screen, then Add to Home Screen. Your business name appears under the icon.
On Android. Open your dashboard in Chrome and go to /dashboard/app. Tap the menu, then Install app. Same result: your business on the home screen, one tap away.
Once it is installed it opens full screen, without the browser bars. You sign in with the email address you already use for your website, and you stay signed in. Screens you have already opened keep working when the signal does not.
Today
Today is the screen you open between jobs. At the top are the numbers that matter this morning: how many bookings you have today, how many conversations are unread, and, for trades that quote, what has been approved today.
Under that is Needs you: the most recent things waiting on a decision from you, newest first. Tap any row to open it.
Bookings
The Bookings tab lists what is coming, nearest first, with the client name and the time.
Confirming or declining a booking
Open a booking that is still a request and tap Confirm or Decline. Tap the same button a second time to be sure. Your client hears about it.
Moving a booking to another day (rescheduling)
Open the booking, pick a new day and time under Move it, and tap Move. The app checks that the new time is free, moves the appointment, and tells your client the new time. If the slot is taken you get told, and nothing moves.
Closing a day so nobody can book it
Tap Close a day at the top of the Bookings tab, pick the date, and tap Close this day. Nothing can be booked into it after that. Everything already booked stays exactly where it is, so a closed day is not a cancelled day. Closed days are listed underneath with a Reopen button when you want the day back.
Requests
For trades that quote instead of booking, the middle tab is Requests. Each row is somebody who asked for a price through your website.
Open one and you get their name, their number as a Call button, what they asked for, the vehicle if your trade has one, and the priced work if it has been priced. The Job status buttons (Received, In progress, Ready, Completed) move the job along, and each step texts the customer so you do not have to.
Chats
Every conversation from your website is in the Chats tab, with unread counts. Open one to read the whole thread. It refreshes while you have it open, so a reply arriving as you read appears on its own.
Messages sit in three shapes:
- Your visitor, on the left.
- Your own replies, in solid gold on the right.
- Automatic replies your website sent for you, outlined on the right.
That last one matters: you can always see what your site already told somebody before you answer.
Type in the box at the bottom and send, and it appears in the visitor's chat window on your website.
Draft. Tap Draft and a suggested reply is written for you from your own business details and the conversation so far. It appears in the box for you to read. Send it, change it, or delete it and write your own. Nothing is ever sent without you tapping send.
Your prices
Under More, open Your prices for the list of what you offer and what it costs. Tap a number, change it, and tap Save. Your website shows the new price straight away. Everything else about the service, its length and description, stays as it was.
Your QR code
Also under More: the QR code that opens your website. Share hands it to any app on your phone, Copy link copies your address, and PNG downloads a large image for printing. Put it on the counter, on the van, or on the back of a card, and nobody has to type your address.
What is on the phone and what is not
The app is for running the business. Building the site is still done on a computer, where there is room for it: the My site tab opens your website in the editor if you want to make a change while you are out.
