Installer: the trades and field-service product

Written from the code. Store type home_services (StoreFeatures::isHomeServices()). Bookings are labelled Jobs and the booking button reads Schedule. Products are hidden unless retail is switched on (instinctor_hs_retail).

Quotes, estimates, jobs and invoices: how a trade gets paid

The site carries an estimate block instead of a booking calendar, because a trade prices a job before it can offer a slot. That is also why the vertical is books = false: it never promises a calendar it cannot fill.

A visitor describes the work and attaches photos. That lands as a request.

The trade prices it: labour by the hour or one price for the job, parts and

materials, tax, and an optional deposit.

Sending it texts the customer a link they approve or decline on their phone.

Job status moves through Received, In progress, Ready, Completed, and each

step texts the customer.

An approved estimate becomes an invoice with a pay link.

What the trade's site ships

Six service cards, a marquee of work, video, and the estimate block.

What Installer does NOT have

No payments to the tradesperson beyond the invoice pay link: no payroll, no subcontractor payouts, no card terminal. No scheduling board, dispatch, or route planning. No inventory or van stock. No job costing or time tracking. No integration with Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan; the comparison pages argue against them, they do not connect to them.

Known gap worth naming

The Installer master is the thinnest of the family: six cards, a marquee, video and the estimate block, with no opening hours, map or price list, which the generic master does carry. A trade site is arguably worse off than a generic one today.
