Impulse Builder
Impulse is Instinctor's visual page editor. It builds pages through a block-based system with native 3D rendering, scroll-triggered motion, and depth effects. No coding required for any of these features.
What Impulse can build
Impulse handles any standard web page layout plus capabilities most builders cannot produce without custom code:
- Full-bleed 3D backgrounds with parallax and mouse-reactive depth
- Scroll-triggered animations on individual blocks
- WebGL shader effects (particle fields, fluid motion, geometric abstractions)
- Cinematic screen-mode pages: each section fills the viewport, transitions on scroll
- Standard content: text, images, video, product grids, forms, buttons, pricing tables
- Ecommerce pages: product pages, cart, checkout, order confirmation
Page modes: Classic and Cinematic
Classic is the default. A new page is a normal scrolling document made of sections, each owning its own background. Nothing else has to be chosen to start building.
Cinematic is switched on by hand in Page Settings. The page becomes a sequence of full-viewport screens that fly over one static animated environment, each revealing with its own entrance animation as the visitor advances (scroll wheel, swipe, or arrow keys). Screens are equal members of one flat list: there are no separate "hero" and "body" zones, and a "cinematic hero" is not a thing. Screens, the environment and reveal animations exist in Cinematic mode only.
The block system
Pages are built from blocks placed inside sections. Common blocks:
- Section: the container. Controls background (color, image, video, or 3D effect), padding, screen height, alignment.
- Heading: text with font, size, weight, color, stroke, blur, and 3D bevel options.
- Text: body copy with full typographic controls.
- Button: CTA with label, link, style, hover, and size controls.
- Image: responsive image with overlay and motion options.
- Grid: flexible n-column layout for any content.
- Product Grid: pulls from the store catalog automatically.
- Flipbox: front/back card with hover reveal.
- Animator: frame-by-frame image or GIF-style animation.
- Form: contact or lead-gen form connected to email or SMS notifications.
- Video: embedded or hosted video.
- Instagent: AI chat widget block, placed anywhere on the page.
3D effects
Instinctor's 3D backgrounds are built on WebGL shaders, not CSS tricks. The effect library includes depth fields, particle systems, wave surfaces, geometric meshes, and abstract motion patterns. Each effect has presets and per-parameter controls (speed, density, color, scale). Effects run in the browser in real time with no video files.
The depth engine applies parallax based on mouse position and scroll velocity. Sections feel physically layered rather than flat.
Per-device settings
Most visual settings (font size, padding, block width, column count) have separate values for desktop, tablet, and mobile. You set the desktop default, then override per device where needed. The editor shows a live preview per device in the viewport.
Instagent section generator
Instagent can generate complete page sections from a text brief. Select a section type (hero, features, pricing, testimonials, etc.) and provide a short description. Instagent builds the section using the brand profile set in Settings, then inserts it into the page as editable blocks. Review and adjust from there.
Saving
There is no publish step for a page. Edits are saved as you work and the saved page is what visitors get: there is no draft copy to promote and no Publish button in the editor. On WordPress, saving updates the post content immediately (live preview reflects changes within a second).
Publish/draft does exist elsewhere in the product, for different things: blog posts are saved as a draft and published explicitly (see recipes/blog), and products carry Published / Draft / Archived states with bulk actions in the Store workspace.
Responsive preview
The editor has a three-device tab bar (desktop, tablet, mobile). The viewport in the editor updates immediately when switching devices, showing how the page looks at each breakpoint without leaving the editor.
