Settings

> Start here. Before building pages or enabling Chat, fill in Store Info (left column). > Instagent, the AI chat, and SEO structured data all pull from these fields. > The minimum set: Store Name · Description · Industry · Audience · Tone. > Chat widget, AI, and notification settings also live here — not in the Chat workspace.

The Settings page (top nav → SETTINGS, or accessed via any workspace's settings gear) contains all site-level configuration: brand identity, routing, team, integrations, chat/AI, notifications, and licence. The page is divided into multiple columns.


Left column — Store Info

Brand and audience profile. These fields feed Instagent (the AI section generator) and the AI chat's brand awareness.

Store Type — dropdown

Selects the commerce mode. See concepts/store for full details.

Options: Physical Goods · Digital Goods · Services · Subscriptions · Memberships · Mixed (default).

Store Name — text input

Your site or business name.

Tagline — text input

One-line value statement. Shown in SEO metadata and passed to Instagent as the brand hook.

Description — textarea

Full brand description. Explain what you do, who you serve, and what makes you different. Instagent uses this when writing section copy. Also used as the site's SEO meta description.

Logo & Favicon — image pickers

Two image slots:

  • Logo — site logo (shown in headers, footers, and emails)
  • Favicon — browser tab icon (square, ideally 32×32 or 64×64)

Industry — dropdown

Your business category. Used by Instagent to pick appropriate tone and templates. Options (26):

Who your customers are. Be specific — Instagent uses this to shape copy voice and Calls to Action.

Value Proposition — text input

One sentence on the outcome you deliver. Feeds into AI-generated headlines and CTAs.

Writing voice for AI-generated content. Options (7):

  • Professional & precise — formal, authoritative
  • Playful & casual — conversational, light-hearted
  • Cinematic & premium — aspirational, cinematic language
  • Technical & confident — matter-of-fact, expert

Voice Sample — textarea

A sample sentence or two written in your actual voice. Instagent uses this to calibrate generated copy.

Language — dropdown

Primary language for the site. Affects AI-generated text language and SEO metadata locale. 29 languages supported.

Address fields

Street Address · Suite / Unit (optional) · City & State · Postcode & Country (with searchable country dropdown). Used in footer templates, transactional emails, and structured data (Google local business).

Support email — email input

Customer-facing support email address.

Phone — tel input (optional)

Business phone number.

Social Profiles (collapsible)

Links to your social media profiles.

Local Business Schema (collapsible)

Generates and previews the JSON-LD Local Business structured data block injected into every page <head>. Test it at Google Rich Results Test. Populated from the Store Info fields above.


Store commerce settings (lower left column)

Downloads

Settings for digital product file delivery:

  • Limit — number of download attempts allowed (∞ = unlimited)
  • Day expiry — days before download link expires (∞ = never)
  • Download email subject — subject line for the delivery email

Return Policy

  • Day window — return window in days (default: 30)
  • % restock — restocking fee percentage charged on return
  • (default: 0)

  • Auto-approve return request — toggle; when on, return requests
  • are approved automatically without manual review

Checkout

Controls what appears on the checkout flow:

  • Allow guest checkout — toggle; let visitors buy without an
  • account

  • Allow account creation — toggle; offer account creation at
  • checkout

  • Show coupon field — toggle; show the discount code input
  • Show gift card field — toggle; show the gift card redemption
  • input

  • Collect email before checkout — toggle; capture visitor email
  • before they reach the payment step

Currencies

Currency configuration for the store. (Managed separately; reflects the active currency list.)


Centre column — Team, Routing, SEO tools, Code

Team

Lists all team members with their email and access level. + Invite opens an invite form to add a new member by email.

Access levels: Full access (admin) and lower tiers (view / edit).

Routing

#### 404 behavior — button group: None · Home · Custom

What happens when a visitor hits a missing page:

  • None — default server 404
  • Home — redirect to /
  • Custom — reveal a URL input for a custom redirect target

#### Redirects — + Add Redirect

A list of manual URL redirects. Each entry has: Source path → Destination URL + Save button. Use for migrating old URLs or creating vanity links.

#### Google Search Console — text input

Paste the content= value from the Google Search Console meta verification tag. Instinctor injects it into the <head> on the home page automatically — no template editing needed.

Sitemap

#### Pages / Products — toggles

Controls what is included in the auto-generated sitemap:

  • Pages — include Impulse pages
  • Products — include store product pages

#### Generate Sitemap — button

Regenerates /sitemap.xml immediately. Run after publishing new pages or products.

Robots.txt

A freeform text area for custom robots.txt directives.

  • Preview — shows the full rendered robots.txt (built-in defaults
  • + your additions)

  • Auto-Optimize — applies Instinctor's recommended rules (blocks
  • AI crawlers, allows search engines, protects admin paths)

Code Snippets

Scripts and styles injected on every page. Instinctor's built-in analytics (SEO workspace) covers traffic, referrers, and engagement without a tag. Use snippets for: third-party pixels (GA4, GTM, Meta, TikTok), consent banners, global custom CSS.

+ Add Snippet opens a snippet editor with:

  • Name — for identification
  • Placement — dropdown: <head> · CSS · Body start · Body end
  • Code textarea

Each snippet has a toggle to enable / disable without deleting.


Payment integrations

Stripe

  • Publishable keypk_... from Stripe dashboard
  • Secret keysk_... from Stripe dashboard (stored encrypted)
  • Webhook secretwhsec_... from the Stripe webhook endpoint
  • Webhook URL — read-only, copy this into Stripe's webhook config:

Sandbox / live mode is determined by the keys you paste — Stripe test keys = test mode, live keys = live mode. No separate toggle.

PayPal

  • Sandbox — toggle button switches between sandbox and live
  • PayPal endpoints

  • Client ID — from PayPal developer dashboard
  • Secret — PayPal app secret (masked)
  • Webhook URL — read-only:

AfterShip Auto-Tracking

Automatic carrier tracking for physical orders.

  • Enable automatic carrier tracking via AfterShip — master toggle
  • API Key — from aftership.com
  • Sync frequency — button group: Hourly · Twice daily · Daily
  • Test Connection — verifies the API key and syncs immediately

AfterShip supports 1,100+ carriers and auto-detects the carrier from the tracking number. Tracking numbers are added per-order in the Orders list.


Customer Tracking

  • Tracking page URL — path of the page that holds the **Order
  • Tracking** block. Customers look up their order by number + email on this page. Default: /track-order


Right column — Chat, Notifications, Agents, Licence, Backup

Emails (collapsible)

Transactional email settings. Expand for SMTP configuration, sender name, and email templates.

Chat — widget, AI, notifications

> All chat configuration lives here in Settings. The Chat workspace is for reading and replying to conversations only.

#### INSTAGENT — toggle

Master switch for the AI chat widget on the site. When off, the chat bubble does not appear on any page.

#### Store data — toggle

When on, the AI has access to the store catalogue (products, prices, services) to answer product questions.

#### Response Delay — slider, 0–60s (default: 30s)

Simulated typing delay before the AI replies. A short delay (5–10s) feels more natural; 0 is instant.

#### Escalate after — slider, 0–60s (default: 10s)

How long after no AI response before the chat offers to connect a live agent.

#### Handoff message — textarea

The message sent to the visitor when the chat hands off to a live agent.

#### Instructions — textarea

Custom system instructions for the AI. Describe your business, special offers, policies, and things the AI should know beyond the brand fields.

#### Visitor data collection — 6 toggles (2 columns)

Controls what the chat widget asks visitors for and can accept:

  • Attach file — allow visitors to send files
  • Collect Name — ask for visitor's name
  • Screenshot — allow visitors to send screenshots
  • Collect Phone — ask for visitor's phone number
  • Draw — allow visitors to use the drawing tool
  • Collect Email — ask for visitor's email

Notifications

Where to send alerts for new orders, bookings, contact form submissions, and chat messages. Three channels, each with a Test button and an enable toggle:

  • Email — email address input
  • Phone (SMS) — phone number input. Multiple numbers supported.
  • WhatsApp — WhatsApp number input. Multiple numbers supported.

Test buttons send a test notification immediately to confirm delivery.

Live Agents

Add team members as live chat agents. The Add from team… dropdown lists current team members; Add assigns them as agents. Live agents receive chat notifications and can respond directly in the Chat workspace.

License

  • Current plan — shows the active plan (Free / Pro / Pro Studio)
  • Plan selector — Pro (1 site) or Pro Studio (10 sites)
  • Billing — Annual ($249/yr) or Monthly ($29.90/mo)
  • License key — text input for entering a licence key
  • Activate — applies the key to unlock the corresponding plan
  • Trial option: "Try Pro free for 14 days" (no card required)

Backup & Migration

One-file snapshot of the entire site: pages, settings, store config, media references.

  • Download site snapshot — exports a .json snapshot file.
  • Use before major changes.

  • Load a snapshot — imports a snapshot file. Overwrites the
  • current site with the snapshot contents (rollback or migration target).


Don't

  • Don't leave Store Info fields empty — Instagent and the AI chat
  • rely on them for brand-aware responses. Empty fields result in generic AI output.

  • Don't use live Stripe keys during development — paste test keys
  • until the checkout flow is confirmed working.

  • Don't click Load a snapshot without downloading the current
  • snapshot first — it overwrites without a confirmation step.

  • Don't set Escalate after to 0 — the chat would hand off immediately
  • before the AI has a chance to respond.
