A STRIP THAT NEVER STOPS

Always movingNo wrap, no jump

Runs on the GPUNot the main thread

Every card linksAnywhere you like

A band of cards drifting sideways, forever, without the seam you get when a slider snaps back to the start. Logos, photographs or captioned cards, in up to three rows that can travel in opposite directions.

Cheap to runEven on a phone

The row holds two identical sets of cards and slides exactly one set to the left, then starts again. Because the second set is already where the first one was, there is nothing to snap back to and no frame where everything changes at once. It animates on the compositor, so the page can be doing something else at the same time.

The cards in this strip are sites we built. In image mode the pictures are the content, and a caption can sit under each one, over it, or nowhere at all.

THREE ROWS THREE DIRECTIONS

Barber shop website built with Instinctor

One row reads as a ticker. Three rows pulling against each other read as a surface, and the count drops on a phone so it never becomes a wall.

Moving text that cannot be stopped is a readability problem, so the row pauses under the pointer and under keyboard focus. A visitor who has asked their system for less motion gets no drift at all and an ordinary scrollable row instead. Hover a card here to see its second line.

SEE WHAT ELSE IT DOES

The marquee is one of 38 ways Impulse builds a page. It also runs a third mode, a strip of reviews with names, roles and stars, fed by your own.
