CHOWNOW ALTERNATIVE

COMMISSION-FREE ORDERING ON A WEBSITE YOU ACTUALLY OWN

ChowNow does the restaurant world a real favor. It lets you take orders online without handing a cut to the delivery marketplaces, and for that alone it is worth respecting. But most restaurants who go looking for a ChowNow alternative want the same commission-free ordering wrapped in something more: a real website they are proud of, not just an ordering page.
Instinctor is built for the restaurant that wants both. A studio-grade website with your menu front and center, online ordering and bookings running on your own Stripe, Smart Chat that answers guests around the clock, and SEO that gets you found. One platform, and you own every pixel of it.

What ChowNow gets right

It is worth being fair about ChowNow, because on the economics it is genuinely on the restaurant's side. Direct orders are commission-free: you pay a flat monthly fee and keep the full value of every order, instead of watching a marketplace take twenty or thirty percent. That is real money staying in your till.
Branded online ordering, your own mobile app, integration with your POS, and a Restaurant Success Manager on the phone all come in the box. If all you need is to take orders online without paying commission, ChowNow does that job well and honestly. Where it runs short is everywhere the ordering stops.
The friction starts the moment you want to be more than an order button. A handful of ChowNow limits turn into real monthly frustration:

Where ChowNow holds you back

  • It is an ordering system, not a website. ChowNow is superb at the menu and the checkout, and thin at everything a brand website needs: a story, real pages, a design people remember. Your ordering page is fine. Your website is an afterthought.
  • You are still renting. ChowNow is a monthly subscription. Stop paying and your ordering goes dark, and the site was never yours to begin with. Your menu and your customizations live on ChowNow's terms, not yours.
  • The bill has more parts than the plan. The monthly fee is only the start. Add a one-time setup cost, the Apple developer fee for a branded app, and payment processing on top, and the real number is higher than the headline.
  • Design and SEO are basic. ChowNow gives you a clean ordering page and not much room to make it yours. If you want a site that looks designed and ranks in Google beyond your restaurant name, you are on your own.
  • It is built for one thing. Ordering. If your restaurant also takes bookings, sells merchandise or gift cards, publishes content or wants a real brand presence, you are back to bolting on more tools.

What ChowNow will never do

A real website, not just an ordering page. ChowNow gives you a checkout and a basic site around it. Instinctor gives you a studio-grade restaurant website built by cinematographers, with your menu, your story and your dishes moving through real space, and the online ordering built right into it.
A menu that does more than list food. On Instinctor your menu is a living part of the site: photos, categories, specials, prices, all editable by you, all feeding straight into commission-free ordering on your own Stripe. No cut taken, no separate app, no compromise on how it looks.
Chat that knows your restaurant. ChowNow does not answer the phone at ten at night. Instinctor's Smart Chat knows your hours, your menu and your bookings. It answers guests, takes orders and reserves tables around the clock, and buzzes your phone the second you are needed.
The whole business, not just orders. Ordering, table bookings, gift cards, merchandise, content and SEO in one system, on one bill, instead of an ordering plugin plus a separate website plus more tools. One login, and a site your guests actually enjoy.

ChowNow pricing is honest about commission, and that is to its credit, but the monthly plan is not the whole bill. There is a one-time setup fee, an Apple developer fee if you want the branded app, and payment processing on every order. The real monthly number is the plan, plus those extras, for what is still mostly an ordering system.
Instinctor puts everything in one platform, no add-ons. The website, the live menu, commission-free ordering, table bookings, Smart Chat and SEO are all included, there are no per-feature add-ons to stack, and you never pay a commission on a sale. You own the site outright.

Moving off ChowNow

Your menu, your dishes and your customer relationships are yours, but they live inside ChowNow's ordering setup rather than a site you control. Moving to Instinctor is a clean rebuild rather than a copy and paste, and that is the good news: you land on a faster, better-looking site with the ordering built in, that you actually own.
We rebuild your menu, wire up commission-free ordering on your own Stripe, and build the whole restaurant site around it. We set up redirects from your old links so anything you already rank for keeps its place through the move. We do the entire migration for you.

Which one is right for you

Choose ChowNow if all you need is commission-free online ordering, you are happy with a basic ordering page rather than a full website, and a branded app plus a POS integration is the whole of what you want. On the pure economics of taking orders, it treats restaurants fairly.
Choose Instinctor if you want the commission-free ordering and a restaurant website worth showing off: a live menu, table bookings, Smart Chat and SEO in one place with no add-ons, a site that looks designed rather than templated, and the freedom to own what you build.
